Will the 76ers go 0-82 this season?
While it's technically possible for the 76ers to go 0-82, it's extremely unlikely. In fact, it's statistically much more probable that they win at least one game. Here's why:
- Historically, no NBA team has ever gone 0-82. The worst record in NBA history for an 82-game season is 7-75, achieved by both the Philadelphia 76ers themselves in 1972-73 and the 2015-16 76ers.
- The 76ers currently have a winning record. As of today, January 17th, 2024, the 76ers have a record of 23-17, which puts them in 3rd place in the Eastern Conference.
- The NBA is a competitive league. Even the worst teams in the league win games occasionally. For example, the last team to go winless in an NBA season was the Philadelphia Warriors in 1947-48, but they only played 48 games due to a player strike.
Therefore, while it's fun to speculate about what might happen, it's highly improbable that the 76ers will go 0-82 this season. They have a talented roster and are currently playing well, so it's much more likely that they will finish with a winning record and make the playoffs.
Of course, anything can happen in the NBA, and it's always possible for a team to go on a long losing streak. But based on the historical data and the 76ers' current performance, it's safe to say that going 0-82 is highly unlikely.
